Comfort
Pops of color and layered detail create a casual comfort for this family home in Denver, CO. The 1914 Craftsmen style house had much of its character stripped out in the 90’s. Rather than trying to recreate those now missing details, small contemporary nods were incorporated: A painted band in the Living Room mimics the paneling that might have been present; Glazed Tile replaced the 12x12 Slate Tiles that had be laid over the original Brick of the Fireplace. Preservation and respect for the buildings intended character were the throughlines for this renovation, filtered through a contemporary lens that creates a space that is fresh, fun and honest.
